Reasons I Blog

I recently came across a discussion that talked about reasons for blogging. It was interesting to see the differences of opinion and motivations people have for blogging. I decided to make a post about it and here are my reasons:

Studying: I use my personal blog as a study tool. It helps me by being able to write out my notes or create an outline based on what I’m learning. (yes, college student) And why not share what I’m learning? Maybe someone would find it useful.

Money: Of course I focus on making money with my blog and network. It’s almost like a part time job running all of this and making no money would put a cramp in my already “broke” college lifestyle.

Hobby: Having a personal blog and running a small network is fun. It’s my hobby.

Experience & Knowlege: There is a wealth of technical skills and knowlege I get from blogging. First of all, gaining knowlege of basic coding is a must if you want a catchy template. Secondly, it constantly improves writing skills.

And maybe just a little bit of fame! What are your motivations to blog? Do you have several reasons or just one? Do particular motivations have an effect on success or failure of a blog?

  1. So as one recently broke student, to another presently struggling student. Greetings! After that we have absolutely nothing in common on the surface. You are 21 to my 65, male to my female, computer savvy to barely in the game, ambitious to drifting, maybe even manic to my depressive?… I could go on but you get the idea.
I am so impressed by you! You seem to be all I once wished I could be…tried to be…failed to be. Is that what fascinates me about you? Or, psychology buff, (me too on that one!) am I projecting?

I sense a young man willing to do whatever it takes to succeed, disciplined, organized (maybe only on things of interest?)dedicated, focused, determined and with a high level of personal integrity as illustrated by how many of those comments/messages on your discussion reeived your attention…(Show me yours…or something like that…excuse the senior moment…but then you don’t have them yet!)

So, you asked for some loving, and I hope you had a lot come to you as a result of your efforts…along with what I am guessing was a marketing fishing expedition!….

I think you are a special young man reaching high and willing to work for it. I wish I was a wealthy old lady who could swoop in and become fairy godmother… however, remember that broke/student connection I mentioned at the beginning of this ramble? Well I’m no longer a student… not at a university in any case… but am so poor economically that the interest on my ever-increasing debt of student loans exceeds my income level!

So much for happy endings… all I can offer you is a friend, without strings, should you find you need someone to listen without judgement once in a while!

    Keep on, keeping on…
